The AVA-ANKC Australian Canine Eye Scheme

The AVA-ANKC Australian Eye Scheme (ACES) Rules and Procedures and the ACES Guide to Owners documents are freely available as downloads from the Australian Veterinary Association’s website

http://www.ava.com.au/  From the home page look for the ‘Veterinary Information’ tab then go to ‘Australian Canine Eye Scheme’ and select the two documents at the bottom of the page.

Although taking some breeder groups and breeds clubs by surprise, the scheme was under development for a number of years and was finally brought to fruition once there were enough qualified eye specialists available to cover all the States and the ACT with the Northern Territory expected to be visited by an eye specialist once or twice yearly.

A Scheme to meet world standards!
